Vincent returns as head principal to WAHS this year.  He said he decided that he wanted to become a teacher in 2018.  He was a chemistry and physics teacher in the Oil City and Forest County school districts, and said he has done many other things in his teaching career.  Vincent said he decided to come to WAHS because he wanted to be in his hometown in his home school to teach the younger generation of his childhood community to help them reach their full potential.

“Be more concerned with your character than your reputation,” Vincent said was his advice to students. “Your reputation is merely what others think of you. Your character is who you truly are.”

Holeva joins Madigan as a new assistant principal this year.  In her role as assistant principal, Holeva focuses on issues concerning nineth and tenth grade students. She said she decided she wanted to become a teacher in 1997.  Holeva said that she came to WAHS because it is a bigger school with more opportunities for her to help students and staff grow than her previous school.  Holeva said that as assistant principal, creating a safe environment for students and staff is particularly important to her because when she was little, school was her “safe haven.”  Holeva said she is trying to make WAHS a safe haven for students, as well.

Holeva said she wants students to know that “there are many different paths to happiness.”

As assistant principal, Madigan focuses on issues concerning eleventh and twelfth grade students. He has 26 years of experience teaching.  He said he decided to become a teacher because of the joy he gets watching students grow and make changes for the best in their lives.  He said he was ready to take on his new larger role to help students and teachers at WAHS to reach their potential.  Madigan’s own youngest child finishes school this year.

Madigan said the message he wants to send students is, “Don’t hope for it – work for it.”
